The Dualie is a versatile, general purpose two-sensor pickup that can be used on any instrument that has a soundboard, such as guitar, harp, dulcimer, etc.When Schatten designed the "Dualie" pickup approximately eight years ago it was designed to be used on acoustic and classical guitars. And then a funny thing happened: musicians discovered that they could stick the Dualie onto just about anything and that it worked and sounded great. Basically, if you have an acoustic instrument with a soundboard, then the Dualie will work well on it.ConstructionThe "Dualie" is a twin element surface mount piezo pickup. It is approximately 1/2" thick, 1 inch wide, and 2 inches long -- about the size of what used to be a 10 cent box of wooden matches.This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp if you are running into any "normal" amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.).Through the use of twin piezo elements we have been able to greatly enhance this pickups" resistance to feedback, particularly when compared to other surface mount transducer pickups. It is light in weight (a couple of ounces), and does not inhibit top movement or vibration.Each pickup is hand built and tested in the Schatten workshop to ensure good sound. As well, each pickup is warranted for a period of two years from date of purchase.InstallationThe Dualie Outside"R may be used on any small to medium sized soundboard such as on a steel string guitar (6 or 12 string) and on any classical guitar or other instrument soundboard. The pickup attaches quickly and easily with our special supplied low residue putty for outside mounting.The Dualie Outside"R comes complete with a 10 foot Mogami shielded cable and a standard 1/4" heavy duty output plug and is ready to plug right into your amp.
