The Mirai Stage 5 audio cassettes, designed to accompany the Mirai Stage 5 course materials, provide models of real Japanese in a variety of settings. The Mirai series is a 6-level, full-color, user-friendly language course with an imaginative and effective approach to Japanese language. Its primary emphasis is on students’ ability to speak naturally; to that end, Mirai features clear explanations of language structures, idiomatic expressions and appropriate language use, as well as many opportunities for students to practice through pair work, games and speaking activities. The language to be learned in each unit is introduced in cartoon storyboard form, and throughout the series, engaging characters (a judo club, a Japanese pop group, and more) explain aspects of language and culture. Authentic and up-to-date photos and maps are also presented in context. Each stage of Mirai includes a Course Book, Activity Book, Teacher’s Book, and audio CDs or cassettes.
