FUR is the earth"s most renewable resource. Native people have known this for thousands of years and is recognized as a customary and traditional use of wildlife as a renewable resource for clothing, shelter, and handicrafts. Traditionally, the Native people perform ceremonies and prayers to honor and thank the animal for their sacrifice. Because animals are economically and culturally important for many natives, no part of the animal is "wasted, or life in vein."
