The French band MENAM was created in 1999, but most of its musicians had already been playing together for two years. Their music is a mix of different influences, reunited in a hard-worked Progressive heavy-metal. Except for the dominant groups in this style (DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X...), the Seventies seem to be a major interest (YES, PINK FLOYD, GENESIS...), one can also note that the symphonic music from the middle of the XIXth Century to the XXth century (WAGNER and DEBUSSY among others) has also played a great role in the aesthetic choices of the group. Published by the Brennus label, the first album "Aesthetics" (2003) combines a powerful heavy-metal music with very precise narration and description. The perfect coordination between music and and lyrics are very important to the musicians: that"s why French is often added to English all along the compositions. You have to listen to this !
