EAN/UPC/ISBN Code 9780719051562

This volume provides an account of US government attempts to reform European management education in the years 1945-1960. It uses case studies to make a substantive comment on the current historical debates about the process of "Americanization" in the post-war world and its impact on different European societies. The case studies look in detail at the "transmission mechanisms" - the American agencies which were active in Europe, and the ways American ideas were received, accepted, rejected or modified in European countries ranging from the UK and Italy to Norway.
