These beautiful, hand crafted Japanese accessories are made of forged Nambu iron. Layers of Urushi Lacquer are carefully applied to the iron?s surface to create the desired finish. During this process, the designs are carefully painted onto the Lacquer with powdered gold and silver, using the ancient Japanese technique of Makie. The combined method of forging the iron, Makie painting, and layering the lacquer is a lengthy and difficult process which takes days to complete. Each exquisitely crafted piece is unique- a one of a kind, hand made in Japan by skilled artisans.
