The CD-ROM identifies very important safey measures, which minimize the risks of long-term lameness. This CD-ROM also demonstrates how to perform thoracentesis, and how to place a thoracostomy tube. These procedures are performed in order to remove pleural effusions, which are a common cause of dyspnea in cats. Thoracentesis will remove the effusion, but certain diseases cause it to reform in a few days, and in those cases a thoracostomy tube should be used.
