To commemorate the 50th year of the Health Physics Society and the journal Health Physics, the Editor-in-Chief commissioned a series of review articles summarizing the first half-century of the profession. Topics covered range from fundamental physics to applied health physics in several areas of industry and medicine. A history of the Health Physics Society is also included. One or more experts in the targeted area of health physics have contributed to each article.
