Active learning takes place during large-group-time activities when children have the opportunity to contribute to the group by taking initiative and expressing their ideas and interests. In sequences from large-group-times at the High/Scope Demonstration Preschool, High/Scope teachers plan, implement, and review a variety of engaging large-group-time activities based on active learning principles.
