This book describes the life and times of five generations of our branch of the Ackland family. It commences with the first two generations--William and wife Susuannah and son James and wife Frances. It then tells us about the children of James and Frances finishing this generation of siblines with a chapter on our direct descendant son William born 1839.Chapters following on from William deal with the families of William"s descendants, the ancestry of their spouses and ends with reminiscences on some of the descendants of this grandson Charles. Namely m generation. I think it is important for the younger members of the family to know how we were brought up and what we experienced as we did so.
