San Diego "Waterproof" Sails Shades - Protects you from the sun all day long. Most shade sails are made of mesh fabric. This means that there are small holes in the fabric allowing a certain amount of hot air to escape. In extreme heat, this can be an important benefit. However, there is a cost. Our "waterproof" sail shades are made of a heavy polyester. This means they have the maximum possible UV protection from a fabric. It also means they are "waterproof" - ideal for unpredictable weather. Our waterproof sail shades are independently tested to UPF50+, more than 98% - the maximum UV protection. - Blocks over 98% of harmful UV rays - Waterproof - High density polyester (180gsm UV stabilized) - Machine washable at 40 degrees Celsius What"s included: - Waterproof 16" Triangle Shade Sail that includes the tension mounted steel D-rings which are double stitched into the corners. - 4" of weather-resistant polypropelene rope for each corner which you can use for mounting. - Carrying Case *NOTE: These shades can handle light to medium rain. Under prolonged heavy rain, water will saturate the fabric and it will start to drip. Also, it is beneficial to install them at an angle to let the water run off and not pool in the center.
