Every Sunday in churches all over the world we hear the Scriptures proclaimed. The gospel stories have the power to transform us. The familiar becomes formational when we listen with more than our ears and open ourselves to a genuine encounter with the Lord who is present in Word and sacrament. To foster this transformation, A Year of Sundays focuses on the gospels proclaimed during the liturgical year. It begins on the First Sunday of Advent in 2007 and continues through the Feast of Christ the King in November 2008. There is a brief reflection for each Sunday, as well as Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Questions for meditation are given at the end of each reflection to provide sustenance for the journey throughout the week.
