This is a memoir of N.N. Rutych (Rutchenko, b. 1916), a professional historian, who emigrated to France after the end of WWII. He undertook an unprecedented effort to compile the first handbook of all the top officers of the White Movement and the Volunteer Army. He was closely acquainted with many famous people: E.V. Tarle, B.D. Grekov, V.V. Maikov, general P.E. Dybenko, German general F. Galder, British officer P. Churchill, Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich, Prince S.G. Romanovskii, historian S.P.
