The objective of this series is to report on advances in the theory and applications of Computer-Aided Design of engineering systems. Each volume will contain five to ten contributions. The series is intended to publish papers covering a wide spectrum of activities from algorithms to design methodologies involving the computer as an essential element, from integrated software systems for CAD to hardware especially conceived for CAD. The fields of engineering where CAD is of paramount importance will be represented in the series. The first volume concentrates on CAD for Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) circuit design. The papers published in this series will describe in detail the general aspects and applications of the techniques, algorithms or systems the authors have developed. In this respect, the series will be unique since it will publish very up-to-date important contributions to the field such as those likely to be found in leading journals but with a level of detail and of breadth that is in general impossible to find in archival publications. The papers published in this series will be all invited, however, they will be reviewed carefully before the actual publication.
