Diamond Pine Nuts are shaped like a torpedo and have a a light, delicate flavor reminiscent of the pine trees they come from. They taste similar to their cousins, the southwestern and Mexican pine nuts known as pinons. Pine nuts are especially popular in pesto, but are versatile enough to be eaten as a snack, in pastas, soups, sautes, breads, pastries and salads, and as an accent to chicken, lamb, veal, duck, pork and fish. They are higher in protein than most nuts and are a good source of thiamine, potassium and phosphorus.
