An all-star line up - New Norwegian sensation, FRODE STROMSTAD. ANNE LISE FROKEDAL, (front person for Harry"s Gym) and EMIL NIKOLAISEN (from the band Serena- Maneesh) team up with SUFJAN STEVENS, DANIELSON and LADYBUG TRANSISTOR. Their eponymous sophomore effort was recorded over three days at Marlborough Farms in Brooklyn, along with Emil Nikolaisen (Serena-Maneesh), Sufjan Stevens, Daniel Smith (Danielson) and Gary Olson (Ladybug Transistor). Produced by I Was A King and Danielson, the album was mixed by Nick Terry (Primal Scream, The Libertines, Klaxons). Compared to the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Teenage Fanclub and Guided By Voices, I Was King take ramshackle rock and squeeze it through a dream-pop filter, evoking the most colourful slice of 90"s nostalgia.
