That Towering Feeling
Digitally remastered edition of this album from the Italian-American crooner. After a couple of barren years with Mercury Records, Vic Damone signed with Columbia in 1956, largely on the basis of his reputation in the first few years of the decade. It was going to need a special album to return him to former glories. That Towering Feeling was that special album. The involvement of trumpeter Buck Clayton and trombonist Urbie Green gave the album an overall Jazz flavor, whilst the material, which ranged from ballads to Frank Sinatra-style swing numbers, showed Vic at his very best. Indeed, not only has That Towering Feeling regularly been acclaimed as the best of all Vic Damone"s albums, it has come extremely high up in virtually every poll for the best album of the 1950s - the album has more than lived up to its title! Hallmark.
