Coming in the wake of his previous albums Andalucía and Extremadura, Mi Camino Con El Flamenco is Raphaël Faÿs third opus entirely devoted to the flamenco style. Since 1987, he has been devoting all his time and energy to carving out a path for himself in a particularly demanding musical tradition marked by the heritage of various unusual personalities. Faÿs wants to bring his own modest contribution to a style that is undergoing constant change, and rather than play at being a follower or an imitator, he has developed his own individual style. It combines the three main traits of Faÿs music the melodic richness of each composition, his impeccable instrumental technique and the expressive quality of his jazz playing where only the essential comes through.
