This book develops a theoretical framework for the space-time trajectory of new life cycles of industries and technologies. The main emphasis is on how the emergence of new technologies leads to a discontinuous shaping of spatio-economic structures. In order to verify the framework, various tertable hypotheses are derived from it which are then tested, by way of empirical analysis.
