Witchcraft in Scotland
A historical account of the belief in witchcraft in Scotland. Written by Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe with a forward by Raymond Lamont Brown. The development of witchcraft in Scotland follows the usual pattern for this type. Early Scottish folklore was almost entriely based on magic and sorcery but as with other countries in Europe, witchcraft practiced in Scotland did not really become alive until it was made heresy. This book takes the reader from the earliest known account in the days of King Caratake and Galgacus. Brown calls this the best book on witchcraft in Scotland ever published. In no other country did the witch cult flourish more rankly and persist more lately. In no other country did the persecution of witches rage fiercer.
