Providing clinicians with thematic tests for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, this work focuses on the thematic apperception test (TAT). Attention is given to a standard method of administration, a standard sequence of 10 cards, and a standard method of scoring. The authors demonstrate how to elicit elaborate stories for the TAT, CAT and SAT tests, to facilitate a more in-depth diagnostic assessment.
