The Addams Family 2012 Calendar
Charles Addams created Morticia, Lurch, and The Thing for a 1938 cartoon published in The New Yorker. Other family characters were born in the multitude of print cartoons Addams (American, 1912–1988) produced before the ghoulishly cheerful clan debuted on television in 1964, on the big screen in 1991 and 1993, and on Broadway in 2010. Albeit from the dark side, The Addams Family is a model of strong family values, and the domestic relationships between family members, although macabre, are nonetheless strangely familiar and touching. This calendar presents a dozen of Addams’s delightfully disturbing cartoons in both color and monochrome.
