Understanding School System Administration: Studies of the Contemporary Chief Education Officer
This is a book about Chief Education Officers (CEO"s) in their contemporary context, what they do, why they do it and some of the consequences of their work, as well as the influence of historical tradition on contemporary practice. The research reported is Canadian, but may be extrapolated to large school systems world-wide. The authors give the reader insights into the world of, and challenges facing, the CEO and highlight the relationship between CEO practices and their effects on students.
