This 70-minute beginning level video teams Frederique, a Victoria"s Secret supermodel, with New York personal trainer Chris Imbo for Imbo"s "Peak 10" program: 10 weeks of aerobics, weights, and nutritional changes. Kacy Duke teaches the aerobics section (Imbo says he does his aerobics outdoors). Her lean, muscled body is inspiring, but she seems to take forever to get past the simplest marches and toe taps, then spends many minutes just adding on hamstring curls, repeating these few moves over and over. Even beginners are bound to get bored and be tempted to fast-forward, especially since Imbo suggests doing the aerobic workout 5 or 6 times a week for 10 weeks. Imbo takes over for the toning workout, a solid series of strength-training exercises for the chest, back, arms, and shoulders. Imbo explains how to do each exercise correctly while Frederique demonstrates. Although he recommends light hand weights, you"ll get more out of the workout if you go heavy enough to challenge the muscles, using heavier weights for the back and chest, especially. The workout ends with about 5 minutes of varied abdominal crunches, then a stretch.
