The reels in the Shadow rear drag series are equipped with an extremely high drag power thanks to a brand new and unique Power Drag System (PDS). By using oversized drag washers and combine it with a special pressure technique, we have created rear drag reels with a drag power that almost equals the drag power of front drag reels. Next to that, we also introduce the Sealed Drag Construction (SDC) that keeps grease and dirt that naturally comes down the main shaft, away from the drag washers, so that the optimal drag power remains the same throughout the lifetime of the reel! Thanks to these two innovations, we have tackled the main reason for anglers not to use rear drag reels; not enough drag power and decreasing drag function as the reel gets older. These reels are also part of the Compact Design Generation Quick®reels, a true evolution in reel design! The general idea behind it is to design fi shing reels that are more compact, slimmer, shorter and at the same time have increased line capacity. At the rear drag reels this philosophy resulted in 5 to 10% shorter reels, thanks to moving the rotor position backwards.
