Having Fun With Kandai The Elephant is a poem telling a story of a little elephant named Kandai who lives in one of the elephant camps in Chiang Mai, Thailand. At the camp, some of the elephants are rescued and some are raised inside the camp. These elephants are trained to do variety of tricks as told and illustrated in the book. Children will enjoy the poem depicting all the acts and by the illustrations hand-painted by the author. This book is meant to be fun reading for children but also is an excellent tool for teaching. Children will be enthused to learn more about the elephant social structure, geography, and Asian culture.
