Fresh from the success of his last album with abc jazz, "resurgence", this live album of originals is compelling and soulful: it is jazz composition at its very best. "tell it like it is" is the kind of album that will please diehard jazz aficionados as well as those new to the sounds of modern jazz. Not to be missed.
