All The Way to Home is a novel about three separate adopted children with real special needs. All suffered abandonment, neglect and various fears in their early lives and brought them to a point where they developed RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder). These children had frustration that came out as fear, rage and disturbed behavior that made any permanent placement difficult for them. Their adoptive parents searched endlessly for a solution trying many therapists and psychologists. Much wasted time and money was spent before they recognized the diagnosis of their child and realized that they needed specialized therapy from a professional that understood attachment disorder. Also intertwined in this story is seeing the world from inside the minds of these children. They do not see the world as normal children; they do not trust and do not know how to accept love, which is an obstacle that can be overcome by a professional that understands. The caliber of manipulation used by these children can fool many that are not ready and aware of the survival games these children play. To give these children a chance at life is a long and frustrating road but working with professionals who understand and can get the parents, teachers as well as counselors all on the same team makes the journey Home within reach.
