Here"s are some real raw hillbilly music, and a few early Nashville Sound classics. In 1953 Jimmy came up from Louisiana and got a Dot Records contract on the strength of "Cry, Cry Darling". These two CDs follow his career through to 1958, taking in some of the finest hillbilly and rockabilly and country-pop of the era. Altogether, there are 47 titles including "A Fallen Star", "Diggy Liggy Lo", "Daydreamin", "Crying For A Pastime", "Blue Darlin", "Honky Tonk Tears", and "Carry On". 2-CD set contains all 47 masters from Dot, 7 of which are previously unissued, plus a 16 page booklet.
