This early dictionary offers a unique historical perspective on the state of American law in the mid-eighteenth century. It contains translations of nearly five-thousand items of foreign origin and supplies definitions for innumerable maxims of law found in both English and American sources. The author has paid great attention to the context of legal terms and supplies extensive notes, with citations, after each section of his glossary (i.e., after "A", "B", "C", etc.).
