Bluebirds: The Story of the Campbell Dynasty
In the 1930s Sir Malcolm Campbell, a flamboyant, buccaneering romantic broke all land and speed records. In the 1950s and 60s his son Donald did the same, but Donald died tragically when his boat went too fast on Consiton Water in 1966 and his boat, "Bluebird" shot out of the water. This family portrait is written by his daughter Gina Campbell who is now herself preparing for the world sea speed record. In this family portrait, she recalls how she was abandoned to an orphanage after her parents divorced and was later scooped up by her father and accompanied him on his adventures. She heard tales of her grandfather"s exploits and when her father died she took up the challenge to become the fastest woman in the world on water.
