This textbook assumes a familiarity with the elements of German grammar, but a review of forms and constructions which are parti- cularly troublesome has been provided. The texts which have been selected from the fields of physics, biology and chemistry are supplemented by a vocabulary consisting of scientific terms, com- pound nouns, separable verbs and idiomatic expressions. There are several texts dealing with organic chemistry as well as a description of the laboratory method of generating chlorine. Of current interest are selections on drugs, space travel and pollution.
