Based on the recognition that qualitative research in the social sciences cannot be unitary, this work reviews a number of strategies for the analysis of qualitative data using computers. It sees microcomputing as offering a range of opportunities for the future of qualitative research. and examines coding segments, lexical searching and coding and theory building.
