J.D. Reager is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer based in Memphis, TN. In addition to being a new "solo artist" perpetually at work on a debut album (due out in mid-2008 on Makeshift/Evangeline Records), he is a former musical contributer with several critically acclaimed recording artists, including Glossary, Pezz, Snowglobe and the Passport Again. He also currently plays guitar with Memphis indie-pop mainstays Two Way Radio, and is a co-owner of Makeshift Music, a well respected collective/independent label in Memphis. As a songwriter, J.D. is hard to pigeon-hole. Lyrically, his songs are honest and personal, with healthy doses of irony and self-deprecation mixed in. Musically, J.D. ranges from solo, acoustic balladry to full-blown, fuzzed-out psychedelic rock (sometimes within the same song), with stops at points in-between. Frequent comparisons to Sebadoh and Elephant 6 are not without their merit. In early 2007, J.D. recruited drummer Joey Pegram, guitarist Ryan Proctor, and bass player Eric Wilson to fill out his live band, the Cold-Blooded Three, and the new line-up has been playing shows regionally and working on new material ever since.
