Jihad on us all: the roots and branches of Islamic militancy addresses the question: Is Islam really a religion of pure peace? Is it, as many academics, popular writers, politicians, pundits, talk-show hosts and Muslim spokesmen claim, a religion that gives no motivation for violence, militancy, and terrorism? To provide the answer, Jihad on us all surveys the literature on Islam, and draws on history, economics, demographics, and archaeology. Unfortunately, as the book clearly explains, Islam can incite militancy among some. Jihad on us all also describes how this militancy poses a long term threat to all moderate people, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, and how it has branched out into the two most threatening and intractable flashpoints of hostility in the world, Palestine and Kashmir, and into the West. It demonstrates that even before the horrible tragedy of 9/11, militant Islam declared jihad on the entire world, including even moderate Muslims who dare to oppose their ultimate aim of a global Islamic totalitarian theocracy.
