The INSPEC thesaurus for 1999 has undergone a comprehensive revision to incorporate developments in terminology. Each INSPEC record is indexed using controlled terms chosen from the thesaurus to provide a powerful search aid. As well as listing the controlled terms and lead-ins or cross-reference terms, the thesaurus gives further help by showing the relationships between terms, the dates on which they were added and the terms in use before these dates.
