Boris Egorov (b. 1926), a long-term friend and colleague of the outstanding Russian philologist Iurii Lotman, was a founder and for many years the head of Russian Literature Department in Tartu University. This book includes his works in the theory of literature and poetry, critical works, as well as his memoirs about the Tartu Semiotic School, and his colleagues and friends: Anna Akhmatova, Boris Eikhenbaum, M.
