After being championed by friends Maurice Gibb, Lulu, Mark London, and Jimmy Page, Cartoone was immediately signed by the lengendary Ahmet Ertegun at Atlantic Records. Soon after , the band netted a much anticipated hit album thanks to the magical single Knick Knack Man. Cartoone truly became one of the highlights in the summer of 1969.... Later that year in support of the new record, Cartoone went on to open for Led Zeppelin for their US tour, and as the Cartoone"s LP was being recorded, Jimmy Page was a guest artist on the sessions....... The four piece band consisted of lead vocalist/bassist Derek Creigan, Charlie Coffils on drums, lead guitarist Mike Allison, and guitarist Mo Trowers. Creigan"s voice is impeccable throughout the entire cd, with his amazing compositions, which truly sounded much like those written by more established bands of that era...... Sadly, the album has been out of print for over four decades, as the band more or less faded into obscurity after a nice run up the charts worldwide. As Friday Music continues their sojourn of championing the finest rock music ever made, they scoured the Atlantic Records vaults and have remastered the definitive version of this long lost classic. Remastered by Joe Reagoso at the Friday Music Studios in California. To celebrate even further, Cartoone"s Charlie Coffils also located eight rare, unreleased tracks, as well as Friday Music locating another Atlantic Records vault find of a rare b-side, which truly makes this the definitive history of this great band"s total recorded output. Complete with a new essay, rare unseen photos, notes and recollections from Charlie Coffils, as well as the original album cover and album label elements. Cartoone is back in a huge way, and Friday Music is proud to be the home of this much loved and highly anticipated re-release. Enjoy!
