On this album, DeFranco assembled a top flight rhythm section along with an equally top flight trumpeter in Harry "Sweets" Edison to play a collection of real wailers! In addition to the standards, trumpeter Edison has contributed one of his own tunes, "Sweet Blues". As a complement to this splendid album, Definitive Records have added a rare session taken from a TV show, which also appears here for the first time on CD. It showcases DeFranco backed by a truly amazing all star group including pianist Sonny Clark, guitarist Tal Farlow, bassist Gene Wright and drummer Bobby White. 12 tracks. 2006.
