Mississippi born and Chicago based, Magic Sam was one of the leading lights of the 2nd generation of Post World War 11 Chicago Blues Artists. He was a contemporary of Buddy Guy, Otis Ruch and Junior Wells. His 1967 Demark Album West Side Soul is considered one of the Top Blues Albums of all time. This CD features 17 previously unreleased Rare Live Tracks recorded at Mandrakes in Berkeley California on July 11th 1969.
