UK native Murdoch moved to Los Angeles in 2002 where he immediately caught the attention of KCRW"s Nic Harcourt. Harcourt began spinning four of Murdoch"s self-recorded songs on "Morning Becomes Eclectic". The reaction to the demos necessitated Murdoch releasing them as the FOUR SONGS EP, which has since sold in excess of 45,000 copies on Zero Summer.
