Forever Eddie
Price 8.39 - 17.08 USD
2008 two CD set. Eddie Cochran is one of the great iconic figures of "50s Rock "N" Roll, perhaps more highly regarded and fondly remembered in Britain - where he died in a car crash while on tour in 1960 - than in his native USA. His original Liberty hit recordings have frequently been reissued and are commonly available, whereas this double CD presents a rarer insight into his talents with 42 tracks only previously available via Rockstar Records. Disc One selects from three of the four Boy Meets Girl TV broadcasts Eddie recorded in Jan/Feb 1960, his appearance at the NME Poll Winners Concert at Wembley (where he was joined by Gene Vincent for a blistering duet, "White Lightnin") and closes with a 1957 radio interview interspersed with two rare home recordings. Disc Two features 20 tracks he recorded just before his signing by Liberty. Many of these rare sides, such as "Skinny Jim", "Pink Pegged Slacks" and "Nervous Breakdown" are every bit as potent as his better known hits.
