Singers in rock bands were unfairly treated in the 60"s as the power of backline amplifiers for guitars were increasing to 100watts, vocal PA amplifiers and mixers were still in their infancy and the stage monitor has yet to be invented! LINDA HOYLE, AFFINITY"s lead singer was often unable to hear herself sing and by the end of 1968, having strained her voice night after night for several months she was forced to have an operation on her vocal chords to remove what was then known as "singers nodes". The 4 guys in the band-Mo Foster, Mike Jopp, Lynton Naiff and Grant Serpell still had to make a living and were booked for a month to play at Ronnie Scott"s Club in London. The month was a great success-with great reviews-and the band grew in confidence. Within a few weeks they were re-united with LINDA HOYLE-who had by then fully recovered-and they continued their career with renewed enthusiasm releasing the self titled album re-released by Angel Air with 8 bonus tracks during 2002.
