Disney"s Princess Lullaby Album shines light on a key children"s release from 2001: Jason Falkner"s Bedtime with the Beatles collection. The arrangements here are dripping with keyboards and swathed in strings, but the simple formula--translating familiar melodies and mellowing the music to sweet, soporific levels--works well. And, to be fair, these aren"t Beatles tunes. But the Disney songs are recognizable enough that the youngster in need of music as a sleep aid won"t be, so to speak, in the dark. Even if films like Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and, to a greater extent, Mulan, aren"t known quantities, Fred Mollin"s orchestrations are soothing. Yes, the set will seem monotonous to adult ears, but this can take a nice, mellow spot alongside Disney Babies Lullaby in the twilight rotation. --Andrew Bartlett
