The latest edition of this popular series featuring The Benny Goodman Orchestra which documents the complete series of radio programs broadcast during the latter part of the 1940s. This CD volume nine features actress and movie star Shirley Booth. Her most significant role was as Lola Delaney in the stage play and later movie of Come Back Little Sheba for which she won an Academy Award as best actress and also a Golden Globe. Also guesting is author, songwriter and gossip columnist, known as the "hostess with the mostest" Elsa Maxwell. Benny as usual is on hand with his orchestra, his sextet and The Mobilgas Orchestra which was the Benny Goodman Orchestra augmented with a string section.
