Jud Newcomb, known to many as "Scrappy," has been a respected guitar player, songwriter and producer on the action-packed Austin music scene for twenty years. He has played and/or recorded with Todd Snider, Beaver Nelson, Ian McLagan, Bob Schneider, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Matt the Electrician, and the Resentments, among others. He has always loved writing songs, but it is only in the last few years that he has felt ready to put out recordings under his own name. His first release was the well-received Turbinado on Freedom Records in 2003. The follow-up, Byzantine was released in 2005 on Curium/Freedom.
