Price 51.82 - 70.00 USD
Gibbs, now deceased, wrote a two-volume history of the force from 1889 to 1939, published in 1972 and 1974 in what was then Rhodesia, where he lived from 1936. Hugh Phillips and Nick Russell, both former members, have abridged his account and extended it to 1980 when the British South Africa Policy was disbanded and replaced by the Zimbabwe Republic Police. This volume contains the three original works The First Line of Defense 1889-1903, The Right of the Line 1930-1939, and The End of the Line 1939-1980. Maps, drawings, and photographs become more frequent and more colorful closer to the present. Names of members are listed in appendices. Distributed by International Publishers Marketing (IPM).
