The Killing Moon have all the elements of a chart topping hard rock band, plus much more. It would be a mistake to lump them in with the "emo" genre. Instantly you notice Ryan Hannan"s enormous rock voice. The songwriting is exciting and the melodies elaborate. Outside the core instrumentation (guitar, bass, drums), the band incorporates sax and trombone played through effect pedals. The five songs on this debut EP will have to hold you over until a later 2006 full-length.
