Choosing a set of Brandenburgs is both easy and difficult. There are so many recordings--and so many readily acceptable versions. Your choice will partly depend on your preference for instruments (period or modern), tempos, and sonics. This one falls into the category of better (often virtuosic) period instrument performances, complemented by vibrant digital sound, and sometimes hampered by tempos that border on being too fast. --David Vernier
