Whilst previous Grupo Batuque albums have often concentrated on percussive rhythms, "O Tempo Do Samba" resets the balance with a set of songs that still retain the Grupo Batuque rhythm but forming an album in the process that will not only appeal to the samba aficionados but anyone who digs the beat from Brazil. As with previous Grupo Batuque albums there are a number of vocal and percussive edit sections yet here the majority of them come from an alternative version of the final track "O Tempo", and threading through the album this creates an intriguing narrative that is finally fully realized with the final track.
